Torn between two lovers....
My new Bowtech Patriot is scheduled to be here Thursday. I informed my wife that I would be gone all of that evening setting it up. That's when she reminded me Thurs. is V-day. Hmmmmm....what to do? Looks like it's gonna take a lot of flowers this year!

Yet another reason not to get married. The list grows daily.<img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle><img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle><img src=icon_smile_approve.gif border=0 align=middle>

<img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>...you need to be more innovative....I am telling my wife we are going to Niagara Falls for Valentine's day weekend, when in reality we are going to be stopping by some archery shops to look at bows in the area...<img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle><img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>....
...what you really need to do is find something for your wife to do for a couple hours that evening....tell her Pier 1 Imports has a sale on wicker things or Lennox vases, but that it is only betwen 6-8pm on Valentine's Day...<img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>

Hey HotLZ,
You are gonna love the new Patriot. I have had mine for about a week and put about 100 arrows through it got it all set up now (except for stabilizer). At 29" draw and 67 lbs draw weight with 340 grain arrow, I'm getting 307 fps and is virtually recoil free. I can't wait to get outside and shoot it. Have fun and let me know how you like it. Also, I'd wait till Friday to pick it up and do your setup, keeping the other half happy goes a long way towards keeping your hunting hobby worry free.

PA,
I have from top to bottom, a fletcher tru-peep, a tied nock point (6 knots), and a string loop. That's it. I may add string leeches for hunting, not sure yet, it's very quiet now.

PA,
If you are going to those Canadian stores, have you checked to be sure they have what you want first? In my experience Archer's Nook is for real, but it is a small little hole in the wall place, not Lancaster Archery, and they put up those prices, but it is quite possible they don't have any of the bows in stock yet. For instance they once told me they didn't sell any 30" bows, they order all of them.
Another Bowtech dealer up here hasn't even started thinking about the 2002 models, and clearly didn't know what I was talking about when I asked. Usualy new bows are a month to two months later up here.
The Bow Shop in Kitchener Waterloo is more of a set-up (they swage aluminum arrows for instance, and have reasonable indoor lanes). But I wouldn't be driving from the US for the prices there.

How are you guys getting your Patriots so quickly? Have you had them on order for a while? When I talked to Bowtech yesterday they told me 2 months!
If any of you know a dealer that can get them quicker, please let me know. The money is burning a hole in my pocket!!
I'm in S.C. If there is a problem with shipping to another state I'll take a day to drive to nearby states.
