Jeff if i take that many twists out of the top one the split will grow to about 7-8 inches i would imagine. You would just have to see it to believe it. If you have every twisted up a rubber band and it begins to knot up that is what the bottom split looks like for about 7-8 twist. It is not smooth like the rest of the string.

Ughh..Brain freeze [:'(] [X(]

You should take twists out of the string not put them in (which lengthens the draw length after you've decreased it by untwisting cables)..but this is only assuming both of your cables are bunched up like that and you untwist them an equal amount. If it's only one cable bunched up, then it will need a new/correct cable.
