Well I have my choices for my venture into the world of Drop-away rests narrowed down. I am looking at the Trophy Taker Shakey Hunter, NAP Quicktune 2000,and the NAP Quicktune 4000. I am looking at the Quicktune 2000 mainly for price since it is essentially the same as the 4000 with the micro adjust obviously missing. Do you all think the micro adjusts are all that helpful and worth the extra money? Also which of these rests in everyones opinion are the easiest to setup and tune? I will be using the rest I choose for hunting and for 3D shooting, so it has to be versitile and tough. Also wich of these rests do you think has the best containment system? Does the shakey Hunter come with the little rubber piece you stick on your arrow shelf like the NAP? I saw on Trophy Takers website they have the exact same thing available for their rests. Thanks for all of the help guys. I know I can always get a good honest opinion on this board.

Hi Pa Hardwoods. I think you and I may have discussed this somewhat. Honestly, the extra 40 or so dollars for the micro-adjustments arent really worth it in my opinion. I purchased the 4000 just because I had a little extra cash at the time. I did however try the 2000 first and see no problems with it. Great little rest for the money. Micro's are nice, but not neccesary. Once the rest is tuned, are you really going to have to fiddle with it? Most times no.

The thing I like so much about this rest is the fact that it uses a steel cable, not a string to pull the rest. Mounting is very solid and I have not ever had one single problem with the rest moving. Its also quiet. One word of advise though. When you mount this rest, make sure the prongs hit the shelf before the rest hits it bottom stop. Once you place the rubber arrow holder on the shelf, its awfully quiet then. The reason for this because if you let the rest use its internal stop all the time, you may eventually break the pin inside that causes it to stop. This came straight from NAP on a phone conversation I had with Cary there.

NAP customer service is excellent and they stand behind there products. There was a little bit of a problem when the rest first came out with the slide sticking, but that was quickly remedied.

I think you will really like this rest.

I love the Trophy Taker Shakey Hunter and yes it comes with the arrow holder. Just follow the instructions and it's simple to set up and tune. I've been using one for several years now with no problems what so ever. Great product that i would highly recommend to anyone.

Been using a TT Shakey for about a month now.

Easy to set-up and built like a tank. Easy to adjust. simple.

I was ready to scrap it about 2 weeks ago, as I was not quite staisfied w/ my groups compared to a conventional rest, but after makinga small adjustment to offer a bit more support through the launch, the groups tightened right up, and I've decided to continue to use it.

Been quite impressed. And I've not been a fan of dropaways in general, and cable hook up drop-aways in particular.

I'll be grabbing another for my next BowTech.

The NAP4000 is a good cable style rest as is the Cavalier Avalanche/Avalanche Extreme, GKF TKO, & the Dalton (though I think the Dalton may not have enough C-shot adjustment w/ the 2004 BowTechs).
