Default Bow Problem

Since my brother dry fired my bow(which was not that bad, he took it out without my permission and tried pulling back 70 lbs. draw weight, he got half way and his fingers slipped, so it wasn't too bad) The sights were off so I put them back into place. The only problem is it shoots perfectly from 20 yards but once I get to 30 and 40 yards it shoots level, but goes left and right randomly and not just a little, I'm talking about the greatest range you can think of. It can't be me because before this happened I was shooting from 30 and 40 with great consistency. I have been at this for 2 weeks. I have a regular PSE 3-pin sight and the peep sight that came with my Fred Bear Truth 2. If you guys have some advice I would greatly appreciate it.

Being as it is shooting different places randomly I would almost think that it may be a bent axle that is rotating randomly. Maybe something else is loose such as the rest. If you don't find the obvious maybe you need to see a good bow tech in your area.

make sure the sights are tight and like bg said the rest but also check your arrows as the nocks may be twisted a bit causing the fletchings to hit the rest

If you guys think it is the rest it may be because I had a bow tech install a new QAD drop away rest after the incident. Do you guys think that maybe it is off?

You need to get the bow inspected thoroughly by a competent bow technician. They dry fire could have damaged the bow rendering it unsafe. This inspection may also reveal the cause of your enlargened groups.

i dont think a half draw dry fire damaged your bow, now that you mentioned the rest that is more than likely your problem. dust the rest and the side of your bow with baby powder and even the fletchings of the arrow if your not burying them in your target to check for contacta left to right leads me to believe the fletchings are hitting the bow or rest

random left to right. Sounds like somethings loose. Check launcher, sights, etc.......

Look over your limbs real well and make sure theres no cracks in them, have a competent tech look it over too

Thanks for the advice AL I put baby powder on the rest and the felt for the QAD restlefta mark on the bar on top, but I thought that little thing can'tcause all of that. So I cut the excess felt that was sticking out and what do you know, I hit the bulls eye five out of five times from 30 yards and then from 40 yards. Thanks for the tip man. I appreciate it.
