TheHostage has new bristles now. If you have the old bristles contact BowTech about acquiring the new stiffer bristles.

I use the Hostage Pro for hunting.

Trophy Taker Spring Steel and or Vapor Trail Limb Driver for target.

I killed two deer this year with the LD, one with a WB. All 3 were kills adn recoveries. I stalked up on the doe I killed with the LD. She was in a grass field, and i dont mean grass, I mean 10ft tall brush/ horseweed stuff, and I never had a problem using the LD with 0 containment. You just have to make a concious effort to keep a finger on the arrow when you bending and weaving through the brush and its fine.

I think the Hostage pro seems like a sturdy design, the brush thing kills it though. The mixed results with it give it a bad rep. Some people hate it, some love it. I like the idea, it just doesnt seem to pull off what its supposed to "easily"

if u want a limb driver it will not work for an admiral. i shot a drop zone. i wanted the LD. the limbs do not flex enough in font of the cams to use an LD. they are work on a new bracket for the admiral. when they get it i think i will switch to the LD. i also shot an admiral

i posted it earlier about the LD not working. the guys at vapor trails told me i could tie it to the end of the limb and use some 3m tape to hold it from moving. just not something i would want to do to a band new bow. plus i would not trust it.

Wow...4 pages and no mention of an MZE. Is no one using them anymore? I have them on both my bows and love em. Do they not work well with the newer bows or what? I almost never hear anything about them anymore.

Its amazing how thefads move in the archery business. Just like everyone infatuated with the "rage" this year, next year it will be something else. I'm not sure anyone is ever happy [8D]

WV Hunter, I believe you're right. But....without new toys to play with each year; what the heck else are we to do in the off -season?

No doubt, the MZE is a good one. I believe for a while, it wouldn't work on a lot of the parallel limb bows due to lack of cable slide movement. But Muzzy has since refined their design to work with virtually any bow.

I'm still in search of the "magic bullet" for a hunting rest.

If one drop away rest would come out that is:

1. all metal construction
2. full containment
3. Quiet
4. Accurate
5. Easy to adjust

I'd be on it. But, I haven't found anything that tops my APA at this point.

TFOx, do you usually set up more for target/3d or hunting. From the sound of it, sounds like target. I hunt way more than I ever 3D or target, so my setups are for that.

You said shoddy construction. I thought this new hostage pro was supposed to be top notch. I haven't been buying much new compound gear this year so kinda out of the loop. Is the new hostage worse than the old? What part is shoddy? I was considering a pro.

I didn't say shoddy construction,just for clarification.

I setup for hunting (NOW)and imo,the whammy is a GREAT hunting rest that works equally as well on the range.

Nah, shot one for 3 seasons, in any weather you can imagine. ONly issue I had was that the spring is stiff, and it will cause the pull chord to stretch. You just have to keep an eye on it. Reason why I stopped shooting it.

I went back to a rest this season that I used to love years ago. The Bodoodle Pro Lite. Easy as cake to tune, very accurate, behaves like a fall away, and no chords to screw with. Wondered why I stopped using it....
