I had some problems with the blazers adn cable contact with my general. it sucks with the hostage b/c you really dont have alot of options. tbh, my blazers would hit sometimes on my general but it still shot consistantly. maybe just a little tail at first but it evened itself out.
my suggestion (other than your rest change) would be to try out the 3d duravanes. i shoot both, blazers, 3" 3d duravanes, and the 2.3" 3d duravanes. they all shoot super consistant, the duravanes just have less clearance issues. also being a lower profile vane, they are less likely to hit a tree limb or something like that while hunting. just my .02

drock: How are the 3d -duravanes work as far as fletching with helical and stabilizing a broadhead? I can't go full helical with this rest -- but when I get my new QAD you bet your sweet azz i am getting all my arrows with helical

yeah i think it is the blazers because my 20 and 30 impact the same (no left/right problems) which is telling me my centershot is close enough. The cables on the cable guard and the blazers barely miss touching. -- I think i am just going to go with my mechanicals for the rest of the season and get everything tip top -- I am newish to archery and just learned all this tuning stuff after the hunting season started so i def was not prepared.

BS, it was definately the blazers causing the string contact.
FSU, mine are all full helicles. i dont shoot anything else. i care more about the quality of arrow flight more that a little speed or whatever. i shot full helicles through my wb too, and shot 3d (hunter class)with the wb and it still did fine. I i were you and wanted to use them for your hunting arrows, i would get the 3" or 4" 3d duravanes (probably the 4") the 4" will provide even more stability and more air friction to make the arrow spin better and stabilize a bh better. i use the 3" mainly and they are great with my victory arrows.
btw, that bow is freaking sick lookin. i would love to have mine done like that. it would be easy for mine too b/c its already all black.

I was out shooting my BH's today and realized I might be getting some cable contact with the blazers through the hostage pro (can't wait to get the QAD on). So should I think about changing vanes? Go with my mechanicals to mask the problem for now until i get a rest with more clearance?

What is it exactly that lead you to think this is the issue? Black crap on the cable side hen feather? Details... details...
Also... is the problem constant? Or is it just once in a while? Always consider the you factor. Inconsistant grip/bow torque can definately be a candidate in this catagory.... gripping the bow tight or snatching it at the shot will cause the riser to roll right... and put the cables much much closer to your vanes as they pass.
