Default Arrow repair/maintenance kits?

Is there a kit that can be purchased for refletching, renocking, and replacing inserts for arrows?

If they are on the web do you have a URL and which one would you reccomend?

I am shooting aluminum arrows.

Taz,

Most of us just purchase extra components and put them in our tackle box for the times when they are needed. There are probably just too many variables in arrow makeups to comeup with a kits for each setup.

Yeah.. I just got some extra nocks, inserts, and field points and throw them in my little box, then use them as needed. I'm not set up for fletching my own arrows yet, but I can fix them by hand as long as the vane isn't completely off. If I need the arrow refletched, I just let the shop I shoot at do it for a couple bucks per arrow.

I have always paid someone to refletch my arrows, and as often as I have done that and the renocking, it starts to add up. What equipment will I need to refletch besides a jig? What will I need to renock and redo my inserts? Is there a place you would reccomend getting this stuff?

Taz,

As far as fletching equipment I use a JO-JAN jig with six stations for arrows. The rest of the equipment is minimal, a dull knife for scraping off the vanes or feathers and cleaning the old glue off the shaft. Some denatured alcohol, a bit of 220 grit sandpaper and some patience. Once I get the glue cleaned from the shafts, I sand them lightly and wipe with the alcohol. I also sand the vane glue track lightly to remove any releasing agent for better adhesion in the clamp before applying the glue. Once you have done a dozen it becomes really easy. Since you are using the same jig single feather or vane repairs are easy.

The Bitzenberger jig is excellent I have a single fletch unit, but its too slow for me and the JO-JAN serves the purpose well.
