peep no longer opening
I haven't changed anything and all of a sudden my peep isn't opening up. I was wondering what may be the cause of this. To give you backround i sling about 75 arrows a day.The string isthe original fuse string which came on my trykon xl. I Keep my equipment in good repair, wax ,tighten all screws bolts etc Any ideas as to what my problem might be Thanks guys

RE: peep no longer opening
If it's consistant you can retwist the string by adding 1/2 turns at the cam and get it back where it needs to be. If it's different every time then something is up and if it were me, I'd replace the string with something of higher quality.

Most likely your string/cables have stretched/creeped a bit. You will have to re-position your peep once again so that it rotates into position at full draw. You will have to continue to do this until your string/cables have settledin and stop creeping....if ever.
Some strings/cables will continue to creep, others that are made with better quality materials and more importantly bettermanufacturingwill settle in after a few shots. Remember, even the best made strings can still slightly creep due to extreme weather changes, while not common it still happens.

RE: peep no longer opening
This started happening to me after about 14 months of shooting my new bow. After each shot, I'd have to give the peep a twist so that when I drew, it would line up correctly. After doing this for several shots, my string started to "corkscrew" inside the serving. I immediately put the bow in the case. When I checked it the next morning, the string had broke. Be careful! The string won't last forever, especially if you shoot a lot.

RE: peep no longer opening
I shot a Trykon XL last year, for most of the year. Tried to keep the original fuse strings as long as I could, but they never seemed to stop
stretching or creeping. I will not shoot a peep with a hose, and I was
always having to adjust the peep by twisting it, even with the D-loop I
had to make constant small adjustments. My advice, replace the fuse
string with a higher quality product. Most all on this forum say Gibblet's
are the way to go. He's supposed to do exceptional work.
