07 Allegiance Problem
#92
Woodrow, don't be discouraged by this thread, really. The issue a few of us are having most likely an isolated incident in a first run production. This is purely speculation, but its my best guess and is why they are replacing my limbs.
I won't hesitate to purchase another Bowtech, tomorrow or next year, I like them that much. Spec wise, you'll be hard pressed to match their performance.
However, my only real complaint is the turn around time.Tomorrow will be three weeks since the shop called the problem in. I surely expected more from them in this area.

After further prehunt inspections my caps are rubbing on BOTH sides of the cam, almost total rub on one side and an angled rub on the other......

W88 the allegiance is a great bow I have a 07 and my top cam was so close to my limb that you couldn't slip a piece of paper between the cam and the limb. I called bowtech and they told me to bring it back to the dealer.I brough it back and all the dealer did was installed a thin nylon washer between the cam and limb and problem solved. When I got home I called bowtech, talked to a guy named Pat told him what the dealer did and he said that what there doing at bowtech.Unless your cams were rubbing then they would replace them and add the washer while they had the bow apart.I have over 300 shots through my bow since the dealer fixed it and no problems. It's not a big of deal as everyones making it out to be.

Well fellas, my nightmare continues.
Just as I predicted, the damn snow storm this week has FedEx all messed up and delayed. My limbs, supposedly are somewhere in transit, stuck in a snow bank, who knows. By the time this is all said and done, the service to my bow with take approx. 1 month. This stinks, especially since I'll have to forfeit the rest of my league scores since I have not shot the last month and the league is almost over.
Oh well, guess I'll learn someday.

Muzzyman, I hate to say it- but when you buy a hot rod for a daily driver you might want a back-up vehicle. I know I’ll get slammed for that, but I’ll never be without 2 bows ready to roll no matter what brand.
Woodrow & Indawoods- My bow is a 2006. When people were posting about end cap rubbing last year I'd pull mine out and be glad my air gap still existed, it no longer does now.
If they think placing washers on both sides of the cam (when you couldn't slip a business card in their to begin with) is the fix I'll be highly depressed. They didn't design the bow with washers; the gap between limbs is "just so" wide for a reason. Trying to decrease the amount of opening by two shims width can't be a good thing. If they were supposed to be there they should have been there in the first place, not as a band-aid repair later. I won't have a chance to run my bow by the dealer until next Thursday or Friday. I’ll see what he thinks.
BTW, the length of a thread should have no bearing on what bow to buy. This thread is only 10 pages long because people like me add my 2 cents on another isolated issue (high-jack). The thread is just about one Allegiance as far as I can tell; I'm not re-reading it again to find out .

Davec If putting a thin nylon washer on on side of the cam fixes the problem whats the big deal.If bowtech put it there in the first place we probable wouldn't be having this discussion right now.I personally don't think new limbs is the answer unless bowtech is going to design a new limb with a bigger gap which I doubt there going to do.The problem ls with the cams when the lean.So like I said if adding that washer gives that cam enough spaceto lean which is going to lean alittle then just add the washer and be done with it.

I tend to agree with DaveC here. If there were supposed to be washers there, why don't they come from the factory with them? The thing with my bow was that it was just the top cam/limb. Not both. The bottom has plenty of clearenance.
Oh yeah, DaveC, a back up bow is now on my to do list.
