Arrow questions
I have been shooting blazed goldtip xt hunter 5575 cut to 28.5"an i just want to make sure i am shooting a heavy enough arrowso i wont damage my bow. The weight is 8.2 gpi and I am debating between 100 and 125 gr tips. With 100 gr tips, plus another 15 for the blazer vanes, the total is 349. I dont know how much the nock or insert weighs ( gt series) but im guessing i could add 20 grtotal. Is 370 enough for me? oh yea i shoot a allegiance with 28" draw and 71 lbs dr weight.
Also i have been debating shooting 100 grain or 125 grain tip. Id rather just stick with 100gr tip but my shop told me that 125 gr shoots better. Is this true?
Lastly, i know, im annoying, Am i underspined for my setup??The chart says yes but my shop says no. i havent got around to paper tuning yet an they told me gold tip under rates their arrows so people dont damage their bows. Thanks for the help

RE: Arrow questions
pa you are way underspined according to my archery program.
It looks like you might have forgotten to add nock and insert when you figured your arrow weight. You are probably closer to 379 grains now.

RE: Arrow questions
Why are your arrows so long? Usually the arrow is shorter than that at 28" draw.
My arrows are 27" and I have a 28 1/2" draw.
Are you measuring from the nock groove to the end of the shaft? Your not supposed to include the point. This will change your spine.

RE: Arrow questions
The Gold Tip chart says you should be shooting 7595s' at a spine of .340.
Your shop people should know underspined arrows don't preform well and a little heavier is better than too light a spine.

RE: Arrow questions
Actually the 7595's are still showing week. He needs a 300 spine at that arrowlength.Cranking the poundage downto 66#'swould make them right.
I really don't like the charts, they miss too many factors.

RE: Arrow questions
I having this problem because I decided to listen to people who jobs are supposed to be to sell quality archery products that are right for the consumer. Everyone makes mistakes but this is a pain. The reason my arrows are so long is because they told me that it should clear the riser shelf. I usually have them an inch and a half past my rest...which would be 27.5. So at 27.5 - 28 and my poundage what does you program say??? ThanksTFOX
btw the chart is on the Gold tip website

RE: Arrow questions
Are you sure about your speed? Or the poundage.
Or was the 06 allegiange WAY slower than the 07. I was running your numbers using an 07 Allegiance.
If you cut your current arrows to 27 1/2" and back off to 68#'s,that would put you perfect on spine, assuming your 279 fps is correct and also assuming you are using a loop,if not,you need to go to 66#'s.

RE: Arrow questions
Well i am as certain as i can be...my shop measured the draw weight and the limbs are as tight as they go (maybe backed off a touch) and my speed wasobtained by their inshop chrono. I would rather just get new arrows...What spine would be correct for my info/setup with a 28 inch arrow?
