I really don't mind buying a new set each year as long as I can put a broad head through targets, resharpen them and put them through a couple deer. All I really want is an effective quality fixed blade that wont bend after punching through ribs/shoulders and will resharpen and last a full season.

I would stay with the muzzy's, personally, i use the new mx4's and shot a large doe last week, it broke 3 bones, didn't damage a blade, my tips don't unscrew, maybe use a tad bit of locktite or threadlocking compound on the threads and use the cheap wrench thing and be very carefull not to cut yourself, the crimson talons look pretty mean too though, i never tried them, but they look mean...lol

In general, the toughest blades are the ones that are the thickest and made of the strongest steel. To be able to sharpen the broadhead, it has to be a simple design with the edge extending the full length.
My own preference is a basic two blade design that I can sharpen easily. I want to practice with the broadheads exactly as I'm going to shoot them, and then be able to easily re-sharpen them.

My vote is for the Thunderhead 100. I have never had one come apart or break in any way. This year I shot a buck a little forward and the arrow went through the near leg, just the muscle, and went out through the bone on the opposite leg after passing through some ribs. The bone was shattered and the arrow came out the other side, sticking out about 6". I replaced the blades and back in the quiver it went. I've taken about 30 hogs in Guam and Hawaii and have always been impressed. BTW, they fly great also.

I haven't done as much testing as 5shot but I have done a few tests of my own before deciding on slick trick magnums.
I've shot stingers, montecs, muzzies, thunderheads, sonics, razor caps, rocket ultimate steel, and slick tricks into cinder blocks from the same bow, on the same arrows at the same distance. The only broadhead that was undamaged and shootable again was the slick trick. In fact, Ishot it 4 times into the concrete and it still spun true.
True you aren't shooting into concrete when hunting but you can't argue with how tough a a broadhead is when shooting it into concrete.
I have shot them side by side with other COC heads into targets and the slick trick would out penetrate nearly every time.
The slick trick is extremely sharp, flies exactly where I aim and, busts through bone like a bullet, and cuts huge 4 blade holes.
I have not found a broadhead to date that offers as much performance as the slick trick.
