sorry len if a bow uses any mechanical mechanism that uses any mechanical process relating from the bow it could be considered "bow driven" even if that process involves pulling a string connected to the cable.

moonge, assuming your description were accurate, that would make it even more agregious for GKF to tout the worlds first bow driven rest... Blatant false advertising. Kind of like them touting the mirage as the first rest providing total clearance. It may be marketing and buzz words, but I find it deceptive no matter who the company using it.

For what it's worth, I currently shoot a Savage rest, so I'm not standing up for anybody...

Moonge, I think arrow driven is a better way to describe your point. On a side note I'm not sure what the point is in touting all of these GKF products before they are released. Here is one for you. How would you like to buy a Pentium V 4.2 Ghz computer with a 300 gbyte drive. Can't show one, but you can bet that HP will have one by June of next year.
Regarding Len, please quit bashing him. I'm not sure what your beef is with him. Unless I'm mistaken everyone is entitled to their opinion on these forums. I for one respect his view on products. Len spends a lot of time testing products to make sure that they will perform for his customers when it counts. I happen to be one of those customers an take umbrage to your continued bashing of his opinion on the MZE rest. For the record I have 3 MZE's and until he tells me their is something better will keep using them on my hunting bows. Maybe next year I'll be using a power drop. One thing for sure, I wait until it has been tested by Len before I change.

Len and I sometimes "agree to disagree" but I will say this...if he believes in a product he will voice it no matter who made it or if he likes the rest of the line that company makes (or whether or not it will hackle some feathers on this board). I recall a post he made saying that a PSE bow (Enforcer I think) was one of the finest he had shot. Never heard Len say anything about PSE before or since but he liked that bow and let us know it. If Len says it's a good peice of equipment, you can bet it's been tested, restested and tested again about 100 times and tolerances have been measured to the gnat's @ss.

IL-Cornfed,

Who are you, that you have so many e-mails from potential GK customers about a new product that has not hit the market yet? Sounds a bit like someone who has inside knowledge of a product that maybe has a biased interest. How can you espouse so much knowledge and opinion on a yet to be released product? Do you have a test rest or are you just parroting GK's advertising? For GK to claim "World's First Bow Driven Rest" is a bit gutsy. Muzzy's ZE rest is a bow driven servo type system that has been around for several years now, so much for GK'S first.

Your attitude towards Len is also very interesting, almost beligerant. I don't see Len knocking GK products per say, just pointing out certain design problems as they arise, just as he does with any other product on the market be it bow, rest, or otherwise.

Man this thread is outof hand. all cormfed wanted to do was post some new info on a product made by a company he has a lot of faith in. Then everyone had to start comparing apples to oranges without even knwoing for sure what the power drop looks like.

man lets just all get along.....is that so hard to do? If we all spent this much time fighting the Anti-Hunter instead of ourselves we wouldn't have to worry about them. instead we are to busy fighting against our fellow bowhunting brothers over an arrowrest....man no wonder they are starting to win <img src=icon_smile_angry.gif border=0 align=middle>

Hi all

This is my forst posting, so please bear with me...I've been reading this site for ages, as although I'm in the UK and we can't hunt..I do a lot of traveling in the US. Also as I've been shooting for 30 years I guess I have some knowledge.

I will not intentionally knock anyone or any product...its not in my nature, I will however speak my mind, and if my peers (you) or my sponsors don't like it...sorry but I've said it and its staying, though if i'm wrong i will say sorry.

Now.....to the point of this... Moonge and Cornfed do not nor have not worked for GKF..I checked. However they do seem to be ardent GKF supported, so whats wrong with that, I know loads who love X companies products and will support them to the death...good on them.

I have spoken to some people about the new GKF products and whats coming out certainly is very interesting...a few have seen them and are posting their feelings... but NO ONE has shot them outside the factory so any views are educated guesses at best. GKF in this instance are releasing some new rests...whick like any manufacturer, they are putting their reputaion on the line with them...so rest asurred they have been fully tested, and they work.

All I would say is stop bitching about something you've not tried, wait till they are available and test them...if then you don't like it fair enough say so...but by the same token if you do say that too.

Len, I agree Muzzy do make some great products, and so you should be proud to be associated, I know I would if I were...but I'm not...sorry. Muzzy and GKF are competitors in the same market...we all feel loyal to our respectve products and as such good on us...thats what makes us humans after all.

Right, enough said..sorry for getting on my high horse, I do hope that you'll forgive me for this little outburst...and i'll promise to keep any future postings short, now back to promoting the sport which we all love so vermantly

Shoot well

Let me quote Looking4Xs from another forum. First, &quot; What I will say though is that GKF wouldn't put their name behind something which isn't fully tested in all conditions...thats why they are #1&quot; Let me explain to you that I seem to be in the center of this turmoil because I tested the Mirage and found, IMO, design flaws which I also attribute to inadequate testing in an attempt to rush a product to the market. Therefore, I must disagree with you when you stated &quot;GKF wouldn't put their name behind something which isn't fully tested in all conditions&quot;. It's a matter of fact that they had to make quite a few modifications to the rest long after it was released to the market. So, not only do I disagree with you comments; but, GKF's actions indicate that your comments are incorrect.

Then you stated on that other forum, &quot; As and when pictures and the actual rest come out I'm sure we will all agree its a nice idea, and I'd even bet some of you sceptics will go and buy or try one...though I do hope that those who do will post their findings...lets not bash...lets state facts...life's nicer that way.&quot; I find several things wrong with this statement. First, &quot;I'm sure we will all agree it's a nice idea...&quot;. That's an assumption that has no basis of fact and then you request &quot;...let's state facts...&quot;. Seems like a 'double standard' to me. Then again, I could just be reading this wrong. Maybe you can better explain who you're trying to convince and why. Since visuals of their products seem to be a secret, how does someone so far away get so intimately involved. Again, where are the facts/pictures?

Now we get to your posts on this forum where YOU brought ME into the dialogue. Somewhat like you, &quot;I will not intentionally knock anyone or any product...its not in my nature,&quot;I will however speak my mind, and if my peers (you) or my sponsors don't like it...sorry but I've said it and its staying, though if i'm wrong i will say sorry.&quot; The difference between us is that I DO NOT have any sponsors. If you checked to find out that &quot;... Moonge and Cornfed do not nor have not worked for GKF..&quot;, then should we understand that you have an intimate relationship with GKF and that probably they are one of your sponsors?

Then further in your post, you state &quot;...whick like any manufacturer, they are putting their reputaion on the line with them...so rest asurred they have been fully tested, and they work.&quot; Again, this is an assumption that I find fallible. They put their name on the Mirage and, as stated above, had to modify it long after it was released to the market. BTW, their modifications didn't totally address the faults I found in my testing of their product.

I will guarantee you that I do not &quot;bitch&quot; about something that I've not tried and tested. If I find the product to have merits, I'll state the facts just as you said you would. If I find the product to have faults, I'll state the facts just as you said you would. I think that meets the standards YOU set and I totally agree with this as the Professional approach by any unassociated source.

And that brings me to my last disagreement with your post. I don't know who you've been talking to but, I AM NOT associated in any way with Muzzy. I am not a shooter like you, but a humble shop owner who strives to get a better understanding of available products. <img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle> I have tested the Muzzy product extensively and, like I previously stated, prodded Muzzy about some minor improvements that I would like to see. I made comments about the faults that I found in the GKF Mirage rest (and only that rest because many of their rests are excellent) and got nothing but flack because there are some in the &quot;GKF Brotherhood&quot; who took offense.

So be it. Like you said above, &quot;I will however speak my mind,..&quot;. I will back this up, however, with factual data and invitations for anyone to analyze my tests/findings. You should also note that the only thing I did in my previous posts was disagree with 'verbage' that was expounded by the &quot;Brotherhood&quot;.

Good shooting to you.

I am not a paid staff shooter by any company, I enjoy shooting jgood products and so I satand behind what is good to me. you can like it or not. you slap my face i'll slap back type of thing when it comes to putting something down I like. It would be nice to be paid like randy ulmer, tim strickland, etc. etc. man that would be the life.

Len why attack Looking4Xs on his first post? man thats a good way to run someone off. you are entitled to your opinion just as he is! Man, that was just wrong. I could care less about all your facts & findings, you are not the bible of archery and your word is not the final word on anything. back off a bit man, i hope you are not this way with your customers when they believe something you do not.
