Moonge. Please quote exactly where in Len's post where he did what you are saying he did. The fact that you cannot is the real issue here...

"This is the SAME 'infomercial' that popped up on another forum posted by the same group of people - Infomercial is implication that this is wrong or out of line to post info on subject."

That was just the beginning. Funny thing is he only shows up to promote the greatness of the MZE & then point out the downfalls of the Mirage. This happens no matter what topic is being talked about if it has GKF mentioned in it.

I am so sick of this crap. c-ya nothing else to say, I simply don't care either way & I have far more important things to worry about then making any of you happy. We mention a new product and it has to turn into a big fight, I just don't get it. Not worth fighting over, sorry.

<BLOCKQUOTE id=quotequote:
all cornfed wanted to do was post some new info on a product made by a company he has a lot of faith in. Then everyone had to start comparing apples to oranges without even knowing for sure what the power drop looks like. man lets just all get along.....is that so hard to do? If we all spent this much time fighting the Anti-Hunter instead of ourselves we wouldn't have to worry about them.

quote:
My point is this was an original point to just get the word out, then you feel you have to come on preach your MZE talk & then bash the Mirage and then start in on a product you have not seen.

Moonge.....does that forward thinking also apply to stabilizers? I'm thinking I could plug in a few names and turn those quotes completely around.
People pay attention.....so please practice what you preach.
Not an attack just an observation.

I think the problem arose not so much with someone promoting a new line of products they like.....heck every one of us does that. EVERY SINGLE ONE OF US.
The problem is GKF's use of the phrase "World's First Bow Driven Rest"
I think we are all in agreement here on that one.......and the use of that phrase is seen as more or less a slap in the face to a company who already has a proven product on the market that I believe under anyones definition is obviously "BowDriven".
GKF is free to use any "Buzz Words" they like........they're creating a buzz for sure right!? But FACTS are FACTS and I just don't see how that ad slogan can be taken seriously?

And be sure I'm not "Bashing" GKF.....(seems as soon as someone has an altering opinion these days then right away they are a "Basher&quot......I own 2 GKF rests currently that I really enjoy as well as 2 Tranquilizer stabilizers that I find OK at best, (but at least I tried them to find out for myself)

And I'd like to make a point concerning Len (And I use Len as an example because he's obviously involved with this topic)
What point many overlook in calling a shop owner like Len a "Basher" is that HE CANNOT AFFORD TO BASH. Archery is how a guy like Len puts food on the table so does anyone really think that he is going to shoot himself in the foot by downing an entire archery manufacturer? Because thru thorough personal testing he finds one product in a manufacturers line to provide more benefits than one of another make for a specific application he's BASHING?
Come on.......Good Proshop guys like Len work very hard to test their products and find the ones that they feel will benefit their customers in each situation. They must stake their reputations and business on these findings......there is no room for BASHING in his case. Only what is best for a certain customer based upon individual needs.

Lets keep the PERSONAL stuff in the holsters please......and we can debate issues like adults.

This is my first post. I have been reading these posts for quite some time though. I am a woman archer and haven't shot much in the last couple of years due to having a few children.
I am gettig back into the sport however. As I read this posts I wonder if I'm listenig to my children bicker. I will let you all know I have always used GKF products. I am biast!! Everyone has an opinion on every product out there and not everyone is going to like the same product. Why don't you guys post why you like or don't like a product and leave it at that? Let people drawl their own conclusions. If someone gives false info try to correct it without attacking each other.
I believe it was Moonge who said something about you guys being bowhunting brothers (you forgot us sisters), we all need to understand not everyone is going to like the same product and stand together.
Thank you Cornfed for giving us this info so we know what is coming and what to look for. I myself am looking into a containment rest. No WB for me so I will be waiting to see what GKF is releasing.

<BLOCKQUOTE id=quotequote:

I just re-read Len's first post in this thread. To me all he said was-

1- It can't be the world's first bow driven rest because they already exist.

2- He'll have to waith until the AMO show to see it.

3- He hopes it is a winner...

Does anyone else read it differently?

It is clear who started the mess in this thread. It immediately followed Len's first post and was filled with unfounded accusations. I for one can't wait for Len to try this rest out and give us the UN-BIASED low down.

I read it the same way! What's the problem?
I also dont see where Len "attacked" Looking4Xs post!

Just friendly observations from a neutral bystander

I have never used either GFK or the MZE so if those companies want to send me products I will test them and post my findings which will be totally unbiased.

Just email me for the address to send them.

DEE DEE..Thank You ... Sweet Lady..

Thanks for all the interest!Folks and for the Support..

PLEASE..Everyone wait till you see the Rests on Video or in person
before you draw conclusions.

It is true , GKF is very Proud of this Rest and how it works!

The Power Drop is a New concept/Idea and Totally Different from anything before.
The P/D is the first Bow Driven Rest without attachments, plus does not attach to cable guard/slide like Auto Rest/Muzzy or is not triggered by Inertia like the TD...It uses a New consistant drive system that powers the rest for arrow Clearance.
Please be Patient.
For sure you can Guarantee it will be backed by 35 years of Experience by the Inventors of the Launcher Arrow Rest.
Golden Key.

WOW, I certainly didn't realize the original post would of ignited like that!!

I was simply really excited when I found out about the new GKF goodies for 2003 and figured a lot of other shooters would of have been as well. I am very much looking forward to getting my hands on the 3 BIG GKF rests I've heard so much about. I will pick up and try the Power Drop and the Hunter Elite Fallaways and also would like to try the new Arrow Trap containment rest as well. It certainly is no secret that I love GKF products and a lot of that is because I will proudly stand behind products and a company that I feel will stand behind me. There are many fine products out there and I will continue to use what workds for me. Here is to a great new year to everyone. BUT, I DO look forward to discussing/debating all of our NEW choices in gear and gadjects in the next year. Good luck to everyone and good shooting

Len,

I don't know what you said to tick these guys off, but keep saying it. I appreciate an opinion of a knowledgable user who has the incentive to push the best one. You make money no matter which one you sell.

Another thing, I don't care if it's the first, second, tenth or hundredth bow-driven rest. All I care, is if it's the best rest for my needs. I valve the opinion of a user who uses everything, rather than a paid rep or company employee. In fact, the opinion of the latter means nothing. They're paid to say what they do and would be fired if they said otherwise.

I really did not want to jump in on this because this horse was so close to death at it is but I will beat it just a hint more. Now I am not the MOST educated man in the world but I do hold a Bach. of Science degree and 16 post grad. credits toward my Masters and I think I am well read enough to know the difference between a "Buzz word" and "False advertisement". It doesn't take a real genuis to figure out what is going on with some of these threads. I was sitting here reading this thread for about 20 min and it just seems MORE than a "buzz word" to "catch someones attention". This is just a case of plain old deception, a LIE. ALthough it is A new Patented technology, which we have not seen, It is not THE first Bow Driven. And correct me if I am wrong but did not GKF Tech state, himself, that any rest that uses the bow to help the rest react is "BOW DRIVEN"?? I am not even going to touch all the other avenues I could go on with that just for the plain fact of I really don't have the time to expain myself the way I would really want to, in an intelligent manner and with some thought. It is way too late for that. I would like put my two cents in in a calm and peaceful manner in which this board allows any member to do. So Please do not get those proverbal panties in a bunch. Especially when someone questions a product GFK Tech and IL-Cornfed; I, as well as MATT/PA, own two GFK rest and the MZE. Both quality products in there own right. That is what makes this sport so good, DIVERSITY! Archery is one of great sport that invites diversity to achieve a common goal. I think if everyone used the same thing we would be bored out of our skull. For goodness sakes there are guys shooting long bows off the stinkin riser for gods sake, so do you think in the GRAND SCHEME of things that it really matters. EVERYONE is entitled to an opinion. But there is a point to where you have to realize that this is a case of very thin skin on GKF's part. I have to agree with Len on the infomercial comment. When I first started on this board it seemed like a certain member turned this message board into a SUMMIT AD. Everytime you read a thread from that person summit was squeezed in there some how. Don't get me wrong, I own a "Goliath" and love it but I don't PREACH about it everytime I get on. IT JUST GETS OLD. I am all about promoing a GOOD/NEW products but when That is ALL a member talks about when they get on this board it sucks! Maybe the the MODS will have to add a "Promo.com" section . OK I am off that soap box. SORRY GUYS. Anyway, I apologize for rambling and I guess I added more than my two cents, but I just had to respond. But please remeber WHY the boards here and maybe you won't take things to heart and except ones own faults first. Please lets stop the selfless promotion. There are TONS of excellent products out there. This sport is full of personal preference and it is ever changing. It is the nature of the archery beast to Tweek this and tweek that for performance or preference. We archers will never stop. So keep that in mind. So thanks for speaking up Len. OK I think the proverbial horse has had enough. This is just one mans opinion.
