Have you shot any broadheads with the bow (other than Steelheads, LOL).
Joe.

I have shot my muzzies 3 blade 100gr heads and they just stack right in there with my field points

Hey, Ausie, Frank, and others. I did get to look over and draw a Black Ice at Cabelas today. I wish I could shoot one, but it is definitely a very impressive bow. The grip was the nicest grip I've ever seen on a factory stock bow. They had quite a few Bear Truth bows, and all of them were 70#. I normally shoot 60, so I looked for one that was backed off a few turns (looking at the limb pockets). I figured the Truth may have been 65-66#, and it came back pretty easily until the second half of the draw, and I had to work a little to get it to full draw. Not bad, but had to work a bit. The only Black Ice they had was bottomed out and was also a 70/29 (like 90% of the bows there). It came back very smoothly and easily. Nice wall and valley. Great feeling bow, and looks fantastic. They do cost more than most "box store" bows, but it was definitely (IMHO) the class of all the bows they had there. I liked it enough to drag this old thread up again.

If you are not looking at buying a new bow then I will have to advise you NOT to shoot the Black Ice cause after you do ya gonna want to buy itbut if you are after a new bow then go ahead shoot it then break out the plastic or check book

Yes the grip is great I really love the way Bowtech has listened to the end user and improved the grip. The thumb ridge is one of the things I havebeen asking for along with the grip being just side plates as I normally take the grip off and replace it with side plates they just give me a better feel for the bow.

It came back very smoothly and easily. Nice wall and valley.
Thats what virtually sold me on the bow it does not have that big hump in the middle of the draw like most single cam bows do and as every one knows I am a 2 cam kinda guy

Ausie: Doesn't matter whether I'd shoot it or not. Right now, I have way too much family money tied up in a home business venture, which is currently not panning out too well. No new bows until I can actually sell most or all of this stuff.[:@]

TTT for some pictures of the Black Ice either fully dressed or bare as they come (or even full drawn)! My younger brother has expressed an interest in getting back into bow hunting in 2008 and I mentioned this bow to him. We don't have any around locally, so I have to rely on you guys to show me some decent pics that I can pass along to him.

Here is a pic of my Black Ice we did take another one at full draw but the pic never turned out for some reason so I will have to get another one done.

I am setting mine up for 3d so that explains the long stab I just have to wait for my Copper Jonh ANTS sight to get here to finish setting it up.

Jeff,

It really is a great bow. Overall feel both at brace and at full draw are excellent and the shot feel is probably the best I have ever had my hands on....at least for this short of a bow. If you want to shoot one then let me know and we can get together at some point in the near future. But, like Ausie said, if you shoot one you are going to want to buy it.

I will try to post a pic of my setup this evening. I have a ton of hunting related internet activities to catch up on. The holidays are alwaysa crazy time for me.

First time post here. I've been reading this thread for a while. I have to agree with everybody on this bow. Iboughta black icejust before Christmas, and I love it. The chrono. readings are on the lower side that I see on this thread, about 253fps w/62#@29in., but still in range. I do have a couple questions. Does anyone else notice a little "throng" or "thump" noise when shot. I do have a ripcord rest and was wondering if that might be some of the noise/vibration. A buddy of mine got a kodiak titan32, and until I shot that bow I didn't think too much of the noise/vibration. It(titan) is a bit heavier, but man, when you release the string that thing is "dead" in your hands. If you wanna shoot one, just pick one up and imagine your arrow goin into the target, it's that smooth! Just wondering ifanyone elsenoticed this. Thanks.

O.k., we just gone done shooting a little bit ago, and I'm kinda thinking about selling my black ice. That kodiak is sooooooooo smooth and absolutely NOOOO vibration. It makes my black ice feel like an air hammer. Don't get me wrong, the black ice is smooth. The only drawback, for me, is the kodiak needs a bit more valley. This is my buddy's first bow ever. After about a dozen shots he got a robin hood. I have never actuallywitnessed this, till today. Needless to say, I'm a bit jealous cause I've been shootin for a few years and the only robin hood I'll ever get is w/a vice and a hammer.
