Is it true single cam bows are hard to shoot? I just bought a hoyt Magnatec and was wondering if what I heard was true. I was looking for something accurate with some speed too. Thanks for the help.

The truth of it is, if you were in a proshop and put on a blindfold and tried different bows you could not tell the difference between the two. And if ya don't believe me then try it.

titleist, I think dual cam bows are more forgiving to some form errors, creeping in particular. With good string & cable I don't think keeping them tuned is a real issue. There are more tuning options with dual cams. All things being equal, dual cams are faster. My dual cam bow may be more consistent, but arrow for arrow, my singles are plenty accurate for me. I agree with JDoyle, if you shoot it well and like it, the number of cams is insignificant.

I have just been shooting for three years now; one with a dual and two years with a solo cam. The solo cam I have is an aggressive cam and it is harder to draw and has a shorter and sharper letoff valley than the two cams I have tried. I don't think this affects my accuracy very much.

You might read over this thread http://forum.hunting.net/bbs/topic.a...23&FORUM_ID=22 and Pinwheels responce I beleive its very accurate . for me getting broadheads and feild tips to hit the same spot is easyer with a 2 cam . Check out hoyts new line up and dartons line up and you may just get the best of both worlds or cam designs that is .

I don't think either is difficult to shoot adequately. If your goal is to become the finest shot in the world, then subtle differences could be deemed important.

Myself, I never cared if it had one or two cams. Because I'm a hunter, my primary consideration is how the draw feels and how quiet the bow is. Two cams are generally louder, which is why I prefer most single cams. If I was a target shooter I would guess my choice would lean towards the 2 cam bows.
