String Twist ???
#1
I had a new string put on my Browning Ambush earlier this summer and it shot great but I have shot probably 400 arrows since and now my peep and string loop are off the the left about 45degrees or so and my groups went from 2" @20 yards to 8" @ 20 yards so my question is .. can a string twist affect grouping like this? If I have the shop put a twist back in to realign the peep will the groups come back? Or is there more to it?

When a string stretches it can throw the bow out of tune and definately have an effect on shooting. Chances are they'll have to add a twist or two to the string to compensate for the stretch.

I can tell you this. If you have that much creep in your string that the tune of your bow changed that much it's going to take a whole lot more than 1 or 2 twists to get things back to specs.

I have just put on a new string the other day and my group's were out a bit as well ,but after shooting 60 or so shot's my group's are now starting to come together .So the answer is "yes" but after this many shot's you should have her back down to smaller group's .I think 8" group's at 20yrds seem's a bit much and you should be over that ,but it depend's on what type of string your using on whether it could stretch that much after that many shot's .
