Funny thing is out there somewhere is about a couple of thousand PSE novas that hit the woods every yearwith bowhunters who haven't stumbled across the message board bow hype machines.
Isn't that that flippin' truth? That cuts it. The archery messageboards are the root of all evil. If I stop visiting them then will lose the urge to buy a new bow?

I bet it would. 2 examples-

I've got2 bowhunting friends, one shoots a buckmaster/jennings maybe 2001 or so model- never even mentions a new bow, shoots it well- it's his bow, he bowhunts and doesn't frequent these boards & is content.
The other shoots a reflex Buckskin, same story. Content & doesn't even consider another "better" bow may be out there. Treats it like his rifle, once bought- good to go, next toy.

Second example- I used to be ate up with ATV forums and the "latest and greatest" hype is great there also. I tried to keep up but found myself wanting a new quad every year. I slowly lost interest due to not being able to afford keeping up and found myself quiet satisfied with my current quad and haven't even once considered replacing it sinceI left the ATV hype boards.

I don't see myself leaving these hunting message boards anytime soon though- I'm a forever bowhunting junky.
Fortunately I can spit out $700 a year on a new bow if so decide. ($7000 a year for a new quad wasn't gonna happen).

PSE Nova shooters rule!

Don't know what happened there!
I remembered that the second guy shot a buckskin and not a timberwolf, soI went in to change it. Must have been way to late to be fooling with this puter!

worked for me...seriously..now that I'm back andposting, there are about 10 friggin bows I want..

I'll say this...I shot the 2 new reflex bows...Super Slam didn't do a whole lot for me either when I first shot it back in the spring , or yesterday. But the new Timberwolf is a sleeper....with a good set of strings that's a helluva bow for the money...aimed like a gun, good speed...QUIET, and pretty pleasant to shoot, moreso than the V-tec I shot back to back with it (had less recoil, V-tec had less vibe). The Slam and a half is a little smoother drawing than the Cam and a half draw length to draw length too. There are still a couple others I wanna shoot before I pick up suttin' else, but that Timberwolf is a def contender.

Timberwolf = 6" brace height?? (according to my catalog)

Do you think the 36" ata will make up for the 6" brace as far as shootability goes?

I only drew the superslam and loved the draw cycle & grip on it. As soon asI put it back on the rack my brain started chanting- hoyt, hoyt , hoyt.
Interesting that they exhibit different draw characteristics between the slam & half vs cam & half. Something to consider & remember.

Thats the old Timberwolf. new one is a Tech riser w/ sim specs to the Super Slam. Just an inch longer with (the reason it feels nicer at the shot) better limb preload.

Ahh forgot...The diff in draw cycle is not glaring, but it is there. S.5 front and back end of the draw cycle is smoothed off a tad. The profile on the modules are diff.
