THE LONG BORING BOW REPORT RETURNS?
#22
I swear this thread is haunting me.Now I've got that itch to buy a new bow and I really liked that Ross when I shot it. Only think keeping me from doing it is the fact that the 2006 models are right around the corner.

Makes ya think, don't it? I'd really like to know what they did to make the valley forgiving. That is one of the reasons I sold most of my single cam bows. Yes, I should just learn to shoot back tension like everyone else, but it just doesn't feel right to me.

Welp, unfortunately due to some unexpected financial obligations I got hit with, anda non-paying buyer on my SB, I had to give up the Ross. I wasn't happy about it, but 'twas neccessary.
So a switch back to the switchback
(You were right Motown![:@]
). Not a bad thing though. SB will shoot and is a fine bow. I just need to get my form back to handle the lower brace, shorter length and higher speed.Slowly, but surely it's coming around..last night I was shooting the SB quite well after I got the arrow spine worked out..it doesn't like stiff arrows. ST AXIS 400 grouped best. Cheetah 300s were just too stiff/critical. But that's another thread.

Did you have to return the pics too?
For some reason I can't view them...

They were on my photobucketpage . I took'em down to make room for some pics of guitar gear I'm selling elsewhere on the net. Sorry

Sorry to hear that. You found a great bow you were excited about, and already have to give it up.[:'(]
Still, a lot of people would like to have a Switchback, even if they aren't really as magical as thier fans make them out to be.

That said, IMO, The SB *is* the best Mathews has come out with.. It does shoot with extreme accuracy, with great speed, and is veryyyyy quiet. Legacy on Steroids. The only thing I would like to see are the same speeds at a 7.5" brace or better..OR...a slightly smoother transition into the valley. I did buy the SB originally over all the other big boys offerings. I think Mathews can and shouldbe real proud of this one. I do miss that Ross though.
