THE LONG BORING BOW REPORT RETURNS?
#32
Wow, how things change around here. Don't click on a thread you already read and in a couple of days time it does a 180.
I'm glad your re-happy (new word) with your Switchback. Too bad about the Ross, maybe next year?

Dave..I'd prefer the Ross. But... life is full of adjustments
Thing is, I don't think I was ever *unhappy* with the SB. Ross is just much easier to shoot (disregarding the diff in QC)
Another 180
Got payment for the SB yesterday....
First guy dropped off the face of the earth. But second fellow came through.
I think I'm gonna just go buy a PSE NOVA, some Gamegetter IIs, aStar hunter, Sattelite Titans, some saunders T-dot pins, and be done with it. Plus I'll have some money left over for some Trebark

I have often contemplated the same move myself. That Nova looks better and better every year.

Still, I'd love to own one of the Ross bows. Or one of the new Merlin XS or XT bows. The thought of forking over $899-999 for a Merlin is a realkick in the nutsthough. I'd probably have to sell off my Patriot and LX tooffset the price. Sorry for getting off topic ... Oct. 1st needs to get here in a hurry so I can just start the season and get these thoughts out of my head.

Actually, I went a little high on the prices. Over on AT Pinwheel said the new Merlin XS has a MSRP of $839 and the new Merlin XT is MSRP $899. http://www.archerytalk.com/vb/showpost.php?p=1720332&postcount=113
Still, that's quite a bit of money. Hopefully the actual retail prices will be more competitive. Granted Merlin makes a top notch product. For those prices you can pickup a bow from any of the "big 3" companies and deck it out with accessories. That Merlin XS with viper cams is calling my name. [&:] Then again, I can hear Ross knocking too. LOL

That setup (Nova) would certainly get the job done. Reminds me of the ancient Darton Viper that I held onto for so long. Can you still get Saunders T-dot pins? At least here in PA, they were bright enough for any legal shooting hours.

PSE Nova, too funny. I often think of the same thing when I hear peoplename droppingabout the latest and greatest must have bow.
Funny thing is out there somewhere is about a couple of thousand PSE novas that hit the woods every yearwith bowhunters who haven't stumbled across the message board bow hype machines. There are probably a bunch of top notch archers and bowhunters included in the mix that down plenty of game not knowing how much dirt they could have pentrated on the other side of the buck they just shot. To them all of that stuff doesn't matter, they are bowhunting- you know a bow and some arrows.
Funny thoughts, glad to see I'm not the only one thinking them...........
