Pointing Labrador

I only have 3 pics of Casey on point. The first one is of his first point (12 weeks old) of a grouse. The second one is when we were hunting Grouse and he was running down a logging road (and quartering through the woods on the sides of the road). The third one is a pic that I took from 60 yards away (thanks to the ZOOM lens) he was pointing Chukars.
His first point was a sight point (not a scent point) -- you can see the grouse straight out in front of his nose, just past the fallen tree.
Sorry about the quality of the 2nd pic, it was taken through a very dirty windshield in a moving vehicle. He went on point, I stopped, got out, loaded up, went up to him and saw that the cover was too thick for me to be able to make the flush and shoot, so I released him to make the flush -- One Ruff up, one Ruff down and a nice retrieve to hand.

I've got Knutson on order - should be here today - and I'll definately check out those other pubs. What are your thoughts on that video I see advertised on pointinglabs.com?
Does your dog point grouse often and when he does, from what range does he pick them up from? Where I hunt grouse it's so thick you can barely get the gun up and it would be neat to try a dog in that stuff.

The "Smartwork" books are probably the cheapest and fastest through Mark at www.coonriverkennels.com
The PL video shows some good PLs working, but it has ZERO training info in it.
He points Grouse consistently. As far as distance, it varies with lots of different factors. But from 5 yards to 15 yards is the normal range. As you can tell from the second pic, our grouse areas are extremely thick as well. PLs are great in that kind of cover.
