Default My Springer tested positive for Lyme Disease.

My 16 month old Springer tested pos for Lyme Disease yesterday. He is now on antibiotics (4 pills) a day for the next month. He was innoculated in the past for it. We were honestly suprised to get this result He shows no signs of the disease and hopefully we can keep it that way. The Vet said hopefully he may never develop the disease but there is no way of making sure. Has anyone had similar situations?

Positive serology indicates exposure to B. burgdorferi and may indicate Lyme disease. Further testing can help differentiate infected dogs from vaccinated dogs. I would recommend discussing with vets at your closest veterinary school. If you are in an area of high incidence of Lyme disease they could answer your questions and provide further testing. Good luck.
