Default Should be a Great Year for Grouse

I'm thinking that this is going to be a banner year for Grouse.
We had a lot of deep snow in the mountains (Grouse country) last Winter, so there were a lot of adult breeders that made it through to breeding season. All of the good Grouse foods are blooming now -- more blossoms than I've seen for many years. Elderberries, Snow Berries etc.
Here are a couple pics that I took last evening when I had Casey out doing some 'free roading'.
Pic #1 is of Snow Berry blossoms. Snow Berries are a Grouse favorite during late Summer and early Fall.
Pic #2 is of Wild Roses. Rose Hips are a Grouse staple from Fall clear to the end of Winter.

And, yes, this is how thick the vegetation is where we hunt Grouse.

We are hoping for a great year ahead as well, I had seen quite a few adults when traveling the back roads going ice fishing this past winter. We never had much snow, but, we had a northeaster hit us late in the season and we are hoping that the grouse will do good. It had killed alot of eagle eggs some other bird eggs as well. so it is amore of a wait and see type thing right now.

That almost looks like the 'wet side'. Where was that taken? On this side of the state, if my allergies is any indication it gonna be a wild year for grouse. The blackberries have taken over everything.

Looks like a good habitat for grouse. Nice and thick... just the way they like it. Good luck!

Mite,
This was just 15 + miles NNE of Colville (Stevens County).
