shes a fine looking dog!
EDIT: also, do you or anyone else know if a Brittany/Lab mix can have complete brittany colors. Because someday I'd love to own a Brit but I want something that will also naturally retrieve.

Joe, I have not seen any Lab/Britanny crosses except this litter. All the pups in the litter were Lab looking in this case. The fellow that I got her from owns a Lab and a Brittany that he used for hunting. The Brittany bitch is getting too old to hunt but she was is favourite. He crossed then to get a personal hunting replacement and naturally sold the rest of the litter. I like the party colours of a Brittany as well. Don't Brittany's reterive?

Sounds like a great start for upland birds. Get her to hold first and let you get in range. Practice off the field with some dummies - place them and let your dog lead on a 50' leash - yank her and give the hold command until you get to the decoy. Then while sheis holding toss up the decoy andgive the retrieve command.
Iuse: BIRD to start the hunt, HOLD to stop the dog either to far out or on a scent, GET to flush the bird and HERE to retrieve. Any command wll work and try and use something different than you here in the fieldfromother hunters.

Not sure I'll have the time to refine her to those specs but it shure gives me a better idea of direction to train her in. This year will be less dog dependent but it will give me a better idea of how "birdie" she is.
Thanks
Thanks
