Well, the temperature has finaly started to cooperate it seems. Yesterday morning one of the guys in the club shot a 4 pointer just before the other club put their dogs out on our lease. It was a good thing he shot that 4 point. I think it had some bad genetics. One side had 3 point and the other was only a twisted main beam. The dogs screwed up the area for a while then we hunted again in the evening. Another guy in the club was hunting 400 yards or so next to me and shot a nice 5 pointer just before dark. Nice spread out to the ear tips. Would have been a really nice one next year. I will be going to an old faithful spot next Saturday for the central gun opener. Time to get some meat in the freezer. Hope everyone else is doing well.

I' ll be off this Wed-Thurs to do some black powder hunting. I hope I get to see something. I went out with the Bow on Friday and all I saw was a lone Doe. The last few nights have been very brite moonlit nights, so I may try to get out one morning and sit all day. If I have any luck, I' ll post to let you guys know.
Wish me luck.

FINALLY shook the monkey off my back. After letting a 6 point and 2 spikes walk opening day of bow, and a missed opportunity at a huge buck 2 weeks ago, I finally got some meat to go in the freezer. Today, if it was brown it' s down. I shot a nice size buck with a broken basket rack. Would have been a 4 or 5 point, but one side was broken just above the brow tine. Now the monkey is gone and meat is in the fridge, just hope to see that bigun again. The only problem is the land around our lease is being hunted by dog hunters. They are always running over our lease with no regards to us. So whats the point of letting the small ones walk if they are going to get shot by the dog hunters? Anyone know how to report a bluetick harvest???
