Ok. The first week of the Eastern gun season is half way over. I hunted Sat., Mon., and Tue. and still haven' t seen any deer. Spooked one out of it' s bed Monday morning but never saw what it was. Only heard the famous alert blow as it ran off. I' ve seen lots of sign but no deer. I think the temperature has alot to do with it. They are bedding down in tight cover during the day and moving primarly at night. Hope the frost gets here soon.

Smitty, Looks like I' m huntin' your back yard while you' re huntin' mine. Spend a lot of time in the Falls-Butner Game Land.

Saw 4 very nice scrapes while hunting one of our leases in Eastern NC. Also saw some very nice rubs!!! Looks like the big boys are starting to look for some luv!!!

Have only seen some does and yearlings while out hunting. One of the guys in the club killed a very nice 5ptr (165 lbs) on opening day of the easter gun season.

Smitty, where in Durham do you live.???
