Let's not forget, "cowboy" was a term used to describe thieves and murderers such as Ike Clanton and his gang in the Tombstone, AZ area
Did you just make this up ?????

OSU mascot is a cowboy of the likeness of Frank Eaton. Frank Eaton was the sheriff of Payne County, Oklahoma.

I know a lot of people that would call themselves "cowboys" and they might take offence to the thief and murderers comment. A cowboy is someone who raises cattle ....Duh!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No I didn't make that up. Where were you when they taught US History? The term "cowboy" was not the same then as it is now days. Maybe the Hollywood version would better suit you. So watch Wyatt Earp or Tombstone.

A "cattleman" is someone who raises cattle. Double Duh!!!!!!

Now days, a "cowboy" is someone who loses too many football games.

Capt: I'm not flying the sooner flag , I'm a cowboy fan. Oklahoma STATE University. I want LSU to win also just to shut the "land thieves" up. My only regret is my Cowboys weren't the one that cost them the National Title as we did in 2001.

This post is to Capt Brad. No need to babble Danny as I'm not listening

I think if you look at the below numbers, you might see that this is going to be a closer game than you might expect. Don't be surprised if you wind up singing the blues afterwards.

Matchup........................................... ..OU..................LSU
Overall Record...................................12-1................12-1
BCS Finish.........................................No. 1...............No. 2
Total Offense (National Rank)..............461.38 (11)......426.54 (26)
Scoring Offense.................................45.15 (1)..........34.92 (14)
Total Defense....................................255.62 (1)........259.54 (2)
Scoring Defense................................14.85 (3)..........10.77 (1)
Turnover Margin................................1.23 (5)...........-.46 (33)
Strength of Schedule (BCS)................11th.................29th
Overall Opponent W-L........................86-76 (.530)......80-80 (.500)
Avg. Game Score..............................45-14................35-11
Avg. Computer Ranking.....................1.17.................. 1.83

Team Leaders..................................OU....... ..................LSU
Passing Yards..................................White (3,744)..........Mauck (2,701)
Receiving Yards...............................Clayton (1,393).......Clayton (1,041)
Rushing Yards..................................Jones (866)............Vincent (884)
Punting (Avg.)..................................Ferguson (41.2)......Jones (42.8)
Punt Returns (Avg.)..........................Perkins (12.6)........Green (19.8)
Kicking (Field Goals).........................DiCarlo (19-22)......Gaudet (7-12)
Kick Returns (Avg.)..........................Rankins (20.3)........Henderson (22.0)
Total Tackles...................................Lehman (109).........Landry (76)
Tackles for Loss (No.-Yds.)...............Lehman (17-44)......Lavalais (16-85)
Sacks (No.-Yds)...............................Cody (9-62)...........Lavalais (7-52)
Interceptions (No.-Yds).....................Pool (6-30)............Webster (6-42)

I'm not saying OU is gonna "kick ass" on LSU. But don't be surprised if it happens. The last time OU played LSU was in the Sugar Bowl too. OU won 35-0. And remember, NO Bob Stoops team has lost two games in a row.

Mod70, now don't think I'm talking to you, since you aren't listening and all. But you've been talking smack on this thread since page one. I never even got involved until page 5, and was even polite about the Cowboys until you popped off, and then I predicted what? Something about OU trouncing the Cowboys. Remember that? and what happened?? 52-9!!!! You're just like every other OSU fan. You're so tired of having a team that sucks, you hate anybody and everybody that reminds you of it, even though you always start it. Not one single OSU fan will cheer on the Sooners for a National Championship. Yet I, and many other Sooner fans will be cheering for OSU to win a mean-nothing chili bowl game. Even though Manning and Ole Miss may just show you how it's done. Then you'll have another team to hate.

Those numbers look good on paper, let's see if they hold up. Like I've said in past post it will be a good game. But LSU will come out on top, and I don't think they will blow ou out of the water.

The bcs has really screwed things up, because I hoped it would be usc and LSU in the Sugar Bowl. I though it would have been a better game than the ou and LSU game.

Anyway I just hope it's a good game and no one gets hurts.

I like most parts of the BCS. It takes away the human emotions of it all. If OU had lost to K-State at the beginning of the year, there's no doubt they'd be number one in the human polls, instead of USC. Both OU and LSU lost to ranked opponents. USC lost to unranked Cal. But because USC did that early in the year, and OU lost it's last game of the season, OU is 3rd, and USC is 1st.

I think Michigan will beat USC in the Rose Bowl. When that happens, there'll only be one #1 after the Sugar Bowl. I'm betting it's OU.

Sorry M70,

i put my foot in my mouth.
I assummed being from OK you were an ardent tiger hater. My mistake.

whats that saying about "engage brain before puttin mouth in gear"
please accept my apology.

Danny
I think your wrong about your last post.
I think USC gets screwed regaurdless.
Try this: LSU 3, OU 0
USC 56, Mich 0

What happens then?
I don't think that will happen, but stranger things have.
seems like every year, somebody gets jerked

Hey, I'm from Oklahoma and I don't hate LSU at all. I just don't care for people that hate OU just because they're OU, with no basis for it.

Reference the scenerio you gave, it would just have to be a split championship between LSU and USC. Again, one of the problems I have is because the sportswriters voted USC #1 just because OU lost it's last game, instead of it's first game. These are the same people that had OU #1 before they ever saw them play. Then when they saw them play, THEY were the one's that touted OU as the "best ever". It wasn't Stoops, the team, or even the fans. It was the same sportswriters that now have USC #1.

I still feel the computers are the most accurate way of determining who should be where because it takes into consideration everything from the entire season. I do think the two best teams are playing in the Sugar Bowl. And until the university presidents decide to have a play-off system, we're going to have to live with it. And yes, I'd be saying that if it was USC and LSU in the Sugar Bowl. I love OU, but if they lose, life goes on.
