being from the deep south,i am just as biased as all others in their geographical areas, but i think the south will rule after the sugar bowl.oklahoma is not or was the great team they was hyped to be by all the media and sportswriters.if the polls still determined the rankings, there would be no doubt that the same past champions that dominate their weak conferences every year would be on top arguing over who is the best and using the lack of a playoff system to support their team as #1. just like the heisman voting.the wrong people vote for the award.too much geographical bias and w-l records determining rankings, rather than schedules played.JMO.

In short a "sooner" is a land thief.
The land run that the government held to give away land we know as Oklahoma to settlers had a start date and time. Some left early "illegally" and they were refered to as "sooners". There fore they stole land from law abiding, hard working, honest people.

I think that was a dig!!!
Let's not forget, "cowboy" was a term used to describe thieves and murderers such as Ike Clanton and his gang in the Tombstone, AZ area. [>:]
And whoever heard of a "Bayou Bengal" ????? Is that some polecat (translated to "skunk") in Louisianna?
