Default snake question

ok well i am on a very tight budget, and in florida for turkey season i would think that snake protection is a must, but my question is would it be ok do use normal huntin boots and get snake gaiters? they cover from about alittle over the ankle to the calf, is that ok or should i get the whole boot i mean the only thing it isnt covering is my toes and my foot.

You can wear tennis shoes and shorts if you want. What matters is if YOU feel safe with what you're wearing. I've got a Redhead Snake boots from BPS and I bought my 8yo son a pair also. After killing a Canebrake/Timber rattler in my driveway I decided it was needed. I'd rather pay a couple hundred now than pay for it later with time spent in the hospital.

have you looked at the snake chaps. i wore a pair in Texas, not to bad to get around in, and they protect you from thorns and such also. i think i paid around $ 50.00 for mine.

For bow season i purchased a pair of snake proof rubber boots for 70 dollars from cabelas. i have a set of gaiters and i never wore them after the first yr i purchased them. Think about it, you have to take them on & off and they are hot on your legs too. I wouldnt keep hunting in Florida without some kind of protection.

Stove pipe inside the pants legs is better than nothing. Uncomfortable as all get out but better than nothing. J/K'ing.
