Default Outta here for a few days (VA deer hunting)

Hey guys....

I'm heading out this AM and spending a few days going deer hunting. I know all of us VA guys have beendesperately trying to get something going and stuff. But I sort of fell into a sweet deal with another guy who's been on this forum a few times. One thing led to another and he invited me along. Then he spoke to the others of the group and they must have all talked about me or something - 'cause the next thing I knew I got an email saying, "YOU'RE IN!!!" [8D]

Sorry, but, I am going to use extreme military security measures here, and not say sh** -if you know what I mean.... I will just say that I am going hunting with these guys starting today and I'll be home for Thanksgiving dinner.

Have fun.....

Be Careful.

We don't want you to end up(if you know what I mean) like Ned Beatty In "Deliverance"

Good luck, just got back from hunting the Blacksburg area. Will be in Harrisonburg this week for some great hunting there. Taken 6 so far, and hoping to put a few more in the freezer, including that real big'un.

That's one heck of a butcher bill. I've taken 5 of 7 deer now to my butcher and just got a bill this a.m. for $376!!! Well worth it though.

Hey Guys...

I'm back. Wow, what a place! I didn't get a deer, but one of the guys at the camp did. We called it a "unicorn" because one of the antlers broke off.

It was cold, 18 degrees, and snow up on the mountains. Let me tell you straight up: There are MONSTER deer up there!! [8D] Fauquier county, Loudoun county, etc...might have 9000 deer per square mile, but they don't have the gigantic monsters that are out in the mountains! Holy crap, I saw some of the photos from a few years back from some the guys, and there were huge 12 and 14 pointers that got taken!

Even though I didn't get a deer, I had a great time and really enjoyed it. I am going back again next year to hunt up in the mountains. It's one of those things... you feel like a kid at Christmas because of the scenery, the vast terrain, and the old time feel of the camp!
