Need advice- can' t adjust sights far enough on Benj. 397

I got my gun in the mail (open sights) and shot it yesterday. It was shooting too high, so ended up completely unscrewing the screw that pushes the sight up. Now, I still have to all but bury the sight in the " v," but it shoots about an inch to half inch to the left at about 20 or so feet. I tried tweaking with the screws on the front of the back sight, but don' t seem to think there is a windage adjustment. Is there any way to further adjust the sights? I would rather line it up with the top of the " V" so I can see better for small game. Or would you recommend that I go to a gunsmith or someplace and get an aperature sight, and should it be hard to find another sight to fit the gun? Any advice on what to do would be greatly appreciated! I guess I would consider getting a scope too if I had to, but would rather go open sights for now.
Thanks!

put a scope on it.
for the price you' d pay to have a gunsmith correct your iron sights, you could put a halfway decent airgun scope on it yourself. personally, i like a 4x scope on an accurate high powered airgun more than iron sights.
