I haven't check in a while,but I would look at E-Bay for used
traps..Get number 11/2 or #2 coil springs..I like the Victors
better than the Dukes....There again it all depends on what
your after..Some states have some stiff regulations about
snares..So you better check the laws first..

With the price of furs, you would be better off taking up other hobbies like coin collecting.
I had a trap line I ran when I was a kid, before school and after school and one weekends and I had about 40 traps at any one time and the best thing I ever caught was a skunk.
Now a days with all the coyote's and bobcats - about the best thing you can catch is muskrat and beaver.
Everytime the beavers gets established here, some fool comes along and traps them all out.
You can get a chunk of change into traps and a trap line and never make it back.

In south carolina its legal to trap foxes and coyotes live and sell them to fox pens. You can get about 20-40 for grey foxes 50-100 for reds and 100-120 for coyotes depending on when you sell them and who you sell them to. Im not to sure about the fur prices anywhere else but down here you can get more for selling them live then selling there fur. You may want to check your regs to see if you can do that in your state but, you do have to put out a little bit more cash to buy soft catch traps b/c if you break the leg or foot its not worth as much. You can also get ok money from the non-target animals such as coons and bobcats that wander up on your traps. It should be about 120-170 bucks for a dozen ofthe # 1 1/2 coilsprings I use but you may want to do it just for rfur and i dont know to much about that.
