Default Hmmm..What walked away with my ham?

Well a few days after Chrismas I took the bone left over from our ham, after we cleaned off what we could for leftovers, and I threw it in my backyard, just to see if anything would take it.

Sure enough, the next day the whole thing was gone, like something picked it up and walked away with it. No snow on the ground so i couldnt find tracks. The only tracks I've ever seen from anything carnivorous are fox tracks, and by the size of the prints i've seen the one that frequents my property doesnt seem like it'd be able to walk off with a huge 3lb ham bone. I live in Newfield, Ny by the way, outside of Ithaca. I've heard of huge coyotes in our hills and woods from several hunters in the area, but I've never seen any evidence of them near my house, nor heard any calls, or seen any footprints.

So I've been racking my brain trying to guess what walked off w/ the ham LOL

haha, like above. You might be surprised what could have taken a three pound bone. Maybe the fox, maybe some coons. hard to say.

ya coulda been a coon, though i've never seen coon tracks. i gotta get a game camera in my backyard lol theres so much activity back there, and i'd like to know what kinda animals pass through. I've been trying to snare this rabbit that leaves tracks up and down my backyard for the past two weeks. before the snare was out, its like they were playing basketball in the snow...the day i put the snare out, up until now (2 weeks later) no footprints whatsoever LOL
