Default Bowhunting Coyotes

I've been seeing alota of people showing off there coyote bow kills and are wondering how they did it. Do you just gotta be in the right place at the right time or do you have to call them in? What calls do you use and what are some other tricks to get one close enough? Another one, treestand or blind?

Thanks Guys!

A coyote/target of opportunity is the easiest way to kill one with the bow. In other words, be sitting in your tree stand hunting deer, and have one come by that doesn't know you even exist. But don't kid yourself, they will catch movement even from above, very quickly, so you have to shoot them much like you would a very wary deer.

Calling them to the bow and killing them is difficult. They have the tendacy to get down wind of the sound, so they may very well semll you before you have a chance to even draw on them. Using a Ecaller with remote can be very helpful by moving the sound away from your location, hance getting their attention away from you, helping you get drawn on them.

A coyote with the bow is tough, but do-able. A very fun challenge.

All my coyotes have been opportunity. I did get one with my bow. He must have been the stupid one in the pack. I was in a ground blind deer hunting. I had heard leaves rustling behind me for awhile but thought it was squirrels. At dusk I got up, walked about twenty feet and turned around. He was standing about ten feet behind where I had been sitting. He just stood there as I nocked an arrow, drew back, and let it fly. I don't claim any skill in that, all luck. Good luck to you though, they are hard to get.
