The best time to hunt is anytime! Night and day time hunting require different tactics and different gear. I'd guess that if you are geared properly, that night time should produce more action, but action can be produced in the day as well. I've never night hunted, but generally speaking, the first couple and last couple of hours of day light will yield good results, but when it's cold, coyotes can be called anytime of day. As far as electronic callers, they have thier place, just not in my arsenal. There are those that have both hand and electronic, and then those that have one or the other. They both have pros and cons. You just have to weigh them and decide which will work best in your situation. Best months to pursue yoties is all winter long.

Night time is the easiest time, not to mention the most exciting and spine chilling on occasion. The colder it is and the more snow the more responsive they become.

If I ain't huntin',I'm trappin',If I ain't trappin',I'm fishin'
If I ain't fishin',I'm wishin'!

i will agree, night time is best for those spine chilling moments...<img src=icon_smile_shock.gif border=0 align=middle>.but if your in thick country they can very easaly get down wind of you with out you being able to see them,so stand placment is critical.i would say the best time to work coyotes would be from late january thru febuary.thats when they pair up and begin to mate.this is when they realy get territorial and its a little easyer to tick them off and make them come on for a closer look.but in general any time during the winter months a coyote can be had.
