And tomorrow will be dying them in a home-made favorite...Black Walnut hulls. Whats everyone else doing to prepare for trapping season. And also hunting season as I will be hanging my tree-stand this week and getting in some of my last groupings before the season

It'll be awhile before walnuts here will be ready, but I'll be cleaning my traps in the next few weeks.Made a few cage traps over the summer.Corn harvest is well underway here and I've been stocking up on what is left after a field is harvested for bait later and feed now.I'm going to usecorn heavilythis year. The deer & squirrels have been enjoying it.Probably the most overlooked and one of the most important, and that's getting into better physical shape before furbearer & upland bird season is here. I am running with my load-bearing vest on and will be adding more weight to it as time goes by. Season is starting to get here pretty quick and I feel your itchin's.good luck this yearman.

O yeah I can't wait. I got my new traps rosting now and plan to dye in a few days. Bought some new lure and fish oil. Adjusted all the pans and dogs.
Last year we got 4 mink, 20 beavers and 195 muskrats. I can't wait.

Its hard for me to get too motivated this early. The season in Illinois (where i trap) starts a little too early for my taste. I'll probably do some scouting in early November and start trapping over Thanksgiving. I only run about 8-10 coon sets and pretty much am gonna trap the exact same spots as last year.
Anybody heard any word on fur prices?
