Are there any coyote lures on the market? Such as a female essence of some sort to use along with a call.Kinda make like a horney female and wine and howl to make the big guy show up for some love'n.I was thinking that the females might show up to chase to intruder out and the males would show up for some nukky.???

i have discoverd over the years that it is very hard to fool a coyotes nose, even more so when it comes to alfas.to use scents in the manner you discribed would be to deliberatly set up so they would come from down wind.this to me would be unproductive.you can confuse a coyotes nose for a moment(a very short moment)with cover scents such as skunk, but he will straighten it out in a hurry and discover that something is just not right.it is my feeling that the same thing would happen with any other type of scent.you could try any of the gland type lures that trappers use and see what happens.but as any trapper will tell you, scent control on your part is very important.

I agree with coyoteseeker. A coyote has the ability to smell and recognize several different smells at once. Such as if you used skunk cover scent, the coyote would smell skunk first probably at a further distance, but he'd also smell human right along with it. Maybe I give them too much credit, but I think if we try to use a scent that isn't normally found in the area where the coyote lives, that is just as bad or worse than using any sence at all. Which includes using female essence this time of year would be a red flag to Mr. coyote because they would know that it is out of the norm. Maybe they aren't that smart, but I'm giving them the benifit of the doubt! Now, I've had coyote hunters tell me they swear by using cover scents 'cause they can get them in real close sometimes, but I don't even try to cover my scent and I've shot two with a bow this year alone that were called in, so, best advise, is to get the wind in your favor and keep it there. Good Luck, and if you do try it, let us know how it worked.
