RE: Coyote lures
I agree with coyoteseeker. A coyote has the ability to smell and recognize several different smells at once. Such as if you used skunk cover scent, the coyote would smell skunk first probably at a further distance, but he'd also smell human right along with it. Maybe I give them too much credit, but I think if we try to use a scent that isn't normally found in the area where the coyote lives, that is just as bad or worse than using any sence at all. Which includes using female essence this time of year would be a red flag to Mr. coyote because they would know that it is out of the norm. Maybe they aren't that smart, but I'm giving them the benifit of the doubt! Now, I've had coyote hunters tell me they swear by using cover scents 'cause they can get them in real close sometimes, but I don't even try to cover my scent and I've shot two with a bow this year alone that were called in, so, best advise, is to get the wind in your favor and keep it there.
