Default The Forked Stick

I spent the biggest part of my life turning animals into food, and the forked stick is by far the most useful tool i have ever used.(not counting rifle and knife)

Start by finding a good solid limb that is mostly straight but a slight curve about 2 inches in diameter at the fork.
Make the fork about 5 inches on each side.
Cut the bottom of the limb so that the base of the fork is about the same height as your waste.

It works great as a rifle rest and a walking stick.

put the curve away from you for a crouching shot
towards you for a sitting shot...keep in mind that it will be a small distance out from you, but pushed down into the earth a bit.

Other uses include using the forked end to guide brush and briars away quietly and scentless.
the bottem is good for inspecting scat and tracks too.

Some good things in life are free.
