Default bobcat calling

I'm interested in hunting bobcat this winter in oklahoma. What part of state is best? Called in several coyotes in midwest , had best sucess during coldest months. Heared bobcat take longer to respond to calls. Any other tips ?Suggestions?

They seem to respond best to the higher pitched calls, such as woodpecker!! They also seem to prefer more constant calling, they tend to hang up when the sound stops. Often, tehy will hang up at the edge of cover, so you have to look closely for them, as you know they blend in with thier surroundings very well.
Good luck in your quest!

I've had the same experiences. With coyotes, a little calling goes a long way. With bobcats, they quit coming when the sound has stopped for very long. And they are very bad about hanging up in cover. Plan on shooting them in the edge of cover because they are very, very reluctant to come out in the open.

I have also had good luck with higher pitched calls. Most of my higher pitched calls sound like smaller animals, which makes the bobcat think the meal will be easier.

I prefer to hunt bobcats at night. Bobcats aren't active during the day if it is very warm outside. And if there are bigger predators around, the bobcats feel a little safer walking around after dark. And since they hang up in cover, they are hard to spot in the daytime. At night, their eyes shine like crazy, so when one comes up, they are easy to see.
