i have yet to get ou that much but seem to see the most action on full moons and clear skies when theres snow on the ground. it's real easy to pick up movement from a distance. i have yet to go out during the day and call. so far this season i've seen more predators during deer season then all of predator season.

I went out on Sunday night and spooked one as it was coming in. I had a friend that wanted to go and also my son went and we saw eyes at about 100 yards then they disappeared in some tall grass. Then all of a sudden one snuck up on us to the left and took off running into the tall grass again. Never did get a shot off.
I used all howling that night because it is close to the breeding season so I used the interrogation howl, male challenge, female invite, and pup distress.

Just this week out here in PA (for this couple of months until late deer season, then goin out back to Colorado), we saw 3 total. One smaller sized one tues. about 400 yards out. Another smaller sized yote at about 70 yards (but unfortunately we spooked it) and the last one was pretty darn good sized at about 120 yards. PA apparently has more than I thought!

Haven't made it out at night this year, but the nights that I have been successful in the past were actually the darker nights (new moon)!
