I'm going to hunt them this year with my AR-15. i purchased a lightforce spot light that u attach onto the scope of your rifle( i believe it was around $300). man is it powerful. with the red filter lens on i can pick up eyes at 300+ yards easy. now thats eyes and not the whole body. but u can see them come in and start to get ready. we've got a lot of yotes here in upstate new york but they are nocturnal i believe till the snow starts flying or the temp drops low. i believe the red light is harder for them to visually pick up and it won't spook them as easily. a white light, i don't know, might work. let me know how it goes for u this season and good luck.

I do a lot of calling. I use a rabbit distress or if its early in the season I will use a fox pup and a rabbit fighting. I dont use the .270 at night becauseof the range it has. I use a 12 gauge with 3 in. steel shot. Seems to do the trick. I also have a light I use coon hunting that I use when I call. It has a seperate spot light.
