Savage 110 trigger job

At the range the other day, a friend of mine and I were doing some shooting. I was shooting my Browning A-bolt II Stainless Stalker in 30-06, my friend was shooting his Savage 110 in 30-06. I was...

RE: .30-06 and 165 gr Grand Slam

I noticed that when weighing the .30 cal Grand Slams on my scale, that they varied as much as 3 grains from bullet to bullet in a lot of 50.
My groups at 100 yards were about 2"

RE: Reloading the .357 Mag

Well, not having any experience with handguns, I've figured out that I have all I can do to hit a sheet of computer paper every time at 50 yards off a bench! 2" groups at 25yds and way off at 50 yds....

RE: Any expirences with Browning A Bolt with BOSS

I've had my Browning a-bolt II Stainless Stalker for a few years now. One thing is for sure, it is loud with the brake. The first time I shot it without ear protection, I curled up in the fetal...

RE: BOSS Settings

Wow! I can't believe I didn't get any feedback on this post. I will have to assume not many have the BOSS system and those who do don't play with it enough to comment!
Thanks anyway!

RE: Reloading the .357 Mag

No problem SCbowhntr. You will probably still get the info before I get my reloading area cleaned up! I am using a RCBS Rockchucker single stage press for now. I know it will be slow going but it...

RE: Reloading the .357 Mag

Thanks alot for the information. I can't wait to get started, if only I had more free time! This part of my life called WORK seems to get in the way of all the things I WANT to do!:)

BOSS Settings

Does anyone have their own "sweet spot" for their Browning A-Bolt II 30-06 rifle?
I find the owners manual pretty sparse on this info. You would think that Browning would do some extensive testing...

RE: You Might Be a Gun Nut if.......

Great post! How about if you've ever considered a makeshift reloading bench in the back of your pickup for use at the range.

When is it "good enough?"

I was just wondering what level of accuracy and at what range most of you are satisfied with when getting ready for deer hunting? I know some people live in open country and some in dense cover but I...

RE: best western states all-around cartridge

I really like the 30-06 for hunting here in the northeast, but if I lived where there were long range shots most of the time, I would go with the 300 Win Mag.

I was wondering how many people have experience with Browning's BOSS system whether positive or negative. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.

RE: What make, model & caliber would you buy?

I'd have to go with Browning A-Bolt II Stainless Stalker 30-06. Tough, accurate, low recoil (with the BOSS) and you have the spectrum covered with such a range of bullet weights available.
Just my...

RE: Browning A-Bolt

I've had my Browning A-bolt II Stainless Stalker 30-06 for a few years now and really love it. It seems to like any bullet I put through it such as Hornady's 110gr V-max, Speer 125gr TNT...

RE: Good scope for night time 'yotes???

Why not try a scope mounted light with a red lens cover? I've heard that yotes can't see the red light and it will light up your target so you can see the crosshairs. Just a thought!
