I have the browning stalker in 270wsm(no Boss) Win 70 classic (no boss) browning stalker 300wsm (with Boss) and have sims recoil pad on the 300 and browning 270 wsm.Can shoot both 270wsm all day with no problem with recoil, and the 300 all day with the boss. One day I took the boss off to see how it shot without it and 3 shots was all I wanted without the boss and that was with just a 150 gr bullet.Don't believe I want to try a 180 or 200 gr without the boss.

one huge advantage of the new 300wsm is that it is chambered in all modern rifles...no down loading of factory ammo for saftey reasons in old rifles like so many calibers today.
I own a Mod 70 300wsm SS though I handload so I bought 5 boxes of Winchester 180 gr factory ammo on sale to get the brass . I have a Burris Fullfield II 4-14x42 mounted with ballistic plex. off bags @100 yds with that factory ammo I am well under 1" for 5 shots everyday, all day if I wanted.
I do not find the recoil much more sever than my '06 with 165 gr BTSP handloads...but everything bites more from a bench....how about the recoil from a 3" 12 ga slug off of bags.WOW it's alot worse than my 300WSM

Shot my VAnguard again on Saturday with 180 grain powerpoints factory ammo..this thing is starting to bore me with its accuracy. Now if Timney would hurry up and put out a replacement trigger.
