I was just loading some .308 shells and encountered a major problem. The bullet seamed to stick in the bullet cup and the neck of the shell also stuck in the sliding sleeve. The inner sleave kept coming out of the die and sticking to the shell. I just loaded other .308 and .30-06 with the same bullet seater - any idea what is going wrong?

The Hornady die has a little metal clip at the bottom of the die to stop the sliding sleeve. The clip is there but the sleeve is stuck so tightly onto the bullet that it just smashes right past the clip.

Phuloschit You maybe crimping the brass before you are fully seated, and taking alot more pressure to seat the bullet. This could cause the bullet to stick in the seater. Zeak

Thanks Zeak, I'll check it out. That sounds right since it didn't happen with longer (Failsafe) bullets.
