I just picked up a new .243 Savage Mod 11 w/ the Accu trigger. I hope it shoots well as I almost went for a CZ instead.
I am going to work up handloads the barrel twist is 1 : 9.25. I mostly am looking to use it for preadator / maybe fall turkey hunting. Can anyone reccomend a good load bullet weight/ style; power to start with. PS, any suggesgtions on a deer loadalso would be appreceiated.
Thanx,

I have worked up good .243 loads with Sierra 55gr and 70gr BlitzKings. Winchester brass and IMR4064 powder. Middle range loads right out of the book with great accuracy in my Savage 22" sporter barrel. Devastating on coyotes!

I use either sierra 85gr HP or hornady 87 gr BTHP for deer and they would work great for either varmitor deer
My load is max so you may want to start lower,H414 45 grs, don't remember the fps but it is fast and accurate out of a 22 in barrel rem.
It will shoot one holers at 100 often and sometimes at 300yds.A buddy used my rifle this past year to drop his first long distant deer at 270 yds.
