Its coatingused on CT/winchester ammo is calledLubalox.
Hunter I see your correct but on the Nosler Forums under FAQ they still have it with NA upper ceiling and that is what they told me a few years ago as well

Ya ya Lubalox. I knew it was something like that! LOL
I've never shot a CT BT other than the 95gr'ers out of my 243 and they shoot very well, and kill deer very dead.

Rather than speculate with amatures on this forum. why not call Nosler on their toll free line and get your answers form someone who probably has a degree in Physics and can answer you question emperically? Regards, Rick.

Yes, you can always call Nosler, and talk with someone who may (or may not) have a degree of any kind. But you have to remember they are trying to SELL bullets! Jeez! There MAY EVEN be a poster or two here who have degrees - but you may not know it based on their DEMONSTRATED literacy level......... However, there are some who have field experience with both types of projectiles.

Wow that was a slam to nearly everyone on here. I guess without a piece of paper you dont have common sense, knowledge of your experinces,or the abilty to think and reason.Thanks for pointing that out.

The Game Hunter,Ballistic -tips are grenades waiting for a place to happen! I've seen them fail in deer and even antelope inflicting head sized entry wounds on any game shot under 100yards!A coyote hits the ground in two or more pieces!The reason they look so promising is they are, no doubt one of the most accurate bullets on paper,but not for hunting.Sierra Game Kings are equally bad .Mostly I use Hornady inter-locks on everything from antelope to moose.{one grizzly.338/225grHornady}Dumped lots of moose with the 130gr. .270! ALL YOU NEED ACCURACY,PENETRATION AND CONTOLLED EXPANSION.For what it's worth.............Thanx Harold

Thanks for the input Pioneer2. Do they really expand that much that quickly? I will be using a 180 Grain from a 300 WSM. Gonna be going for a Mouflon Ram in a couple weeks, I'm figuring with an animal that size it may just penetrate through the other side?
