The Reloader 19 that I was using is an extruded type powder, and I can see how several grains would not be "swept" uniformly into the hopper as I was turning the handle to dispense it. Due to the shape of the grains, it does not all uniformly flow. It wasn't off by a huge amount; 2 out of three times I had to either add a couple/several or remove a couple/several grains to get the scale to balance perfectly at the set weight.
But hey, I'm not complaining. Beats trying to measure each charge by spooning it on the scale. I like the Lee equipment overall.
Kindest Regards,

I have to disagree briman. I have tried the same, and I have a proof set of wieghts. With powders like H110, you can get very consistent dips, but for IMR4350, no way. Even unique, I get variances or any flake powder.
Willtill- try this...
-keep you hopper full or nearly full.
-Run about 3 or 4 charges through it before taking one out for weight.
-when you move the handle, give it a tap when its in the down position, and a tap when its in the up position- just be sure to do it the same way every time.
-I wouldn't fret over one or two granules of powder, it really makes zero difference in a rifle load

I have to agree with Briman on this one. My Lee perfect powder measure is dead on balls accurate charge after charge. All I do is give a tap or two when in the down position and it's there. Much more accurate than the RCBS or Dillon's that I've used in the past. If you look back at my posts the first thing I always recommend when purchasing the Lee kits is to upgrade to a better scale.
