Does anyone here find that reloading is a chore?

It is nothing but a chore and sometimes a hassle getting components. It really lessens my enjoyment of shooting to boot, but with factory ammo prices and selections the way they are I will have to continue doing it if I plan on shooting a lot

Just how much ammo do you shoot, or should I say reload per week or month?

idaho, ive been loading for 25 years or so and i totally enjoy it. its fun to work up loads for a rifle. plus the satisfaction of seeing the rifle shoot good groups. if it ever becomes a chore to reload i think id quit doing it. as for your friend, id tell him what i tell those i load for, they have until a certain day to get anything reloaded. here in Pa. i give them until the Saturday after Thanksgiving. our deer season starts on the Monday after Thanksgiving. if they arent ready by then i dont reload.

It depends on the gun(s) I plan on using the following season . Generally 1000 rds a year get reloaded if I am shooting magnums else I buy factory ammo for standard calibers with some exceptions. If its a new caliber I try a lot of different bullets . I have a new 300 wsm and previously settled on 180 grain bullet/powder combo on y other 300 wsm's..I would like to get this gun to shoot 165 grainers and that will be the focus this summer and fall.
