I own a new Win. 94 45 LC I've been loading 300 gr Sierra FP over 22 gr H110 in Starline brass. Around 1500FPS out of my gun.
What is this load capable of hunting under 100 yds? should I stop at deer & blk bear? big hogs? elk? moose?????
just wondering. I own several calibers. But this big pistol caliber in a rifle is fun to shoot and easy to reload.
Also wondering how far I can "hot rod " this caliber in my Winchester 94. BT

If you changed from the Sierra to a cast flatnose 300 grain bullet @ 1500 FPS, elk and moose are not stretching things too much! If you can kill stuff like this when shooting these bullets from a .45 LC or .454 Casull revolver, you can sure do the same with a rifle!!
Keep yore powder dry!!

i would do brown bears but everything else seems reasonable. yes and for larger animals go with a hardcast for better penetration, but deer and hogs the sp will for fine
if you are looking for more velocity with the same pressure look into using a hodgdon powder called lil'gun, i have been having good success in terms of velocity in my .357 mag, and since it is a rifle the slower burning powder will help.

you can never have too many guns
