Wolf,,
Your group looks as if it's about 1 1/2 inches c/c. That ought to handle most hunting needs without a problem, and might be a good place to stop. If you're interested in accuracy for the sake of accuracy, I think you have a long way to go. The first step should, IMHO, be tuning your rifle with a good glass bedding of the action and chamber area of the barrel, as well as a trigger adjustment so it breaks cleanly and at a reasonable weight. Working up good loads should result in a three shot group where all three holes are very close to touching.
Varget has done it for me in my .308. So has H-4895. The search for accuracy will teach you a lot about your rifle and cartridge. Good luck and God bless.

the rifle is already bedded and I have a jarden trigger set at a hair over 2 lbs, I have a load already for the gun that consistantly shoots nice clover leafs at 100 yards just the bullet isnt suitable for hunting its a Sierra 168 grain BTHP matchking. its just a matter of tuning my current load.
I made several more loads using different COL's 3 of each and i made up several more loads also with the COL adjustments and again 3 of each using fed gold medal 210 primers and 3 more of my original COL using fed gold medal 210 primers. I figure i covered quite a few variables gonna hit the range this weekend and see how it turns out. wish me luck

Wolf,
Sounds as if your after accuracy. You might want to take a look at the Sierra 165 HPBT hunting bullet. I've gotten great accuracy with them in both the .308 Win. and '06. I've recently started testing the Nosler 150 grain Accubond in my .308. So far they look very promising. Let us know how it goes. Good luck and God bless..

yep, the sierra 165 grain BTHP Gameking, thats what i am using. Im not going after benchrest accuracy, I know the gun is capable of sub MOA groups. I just want it to consistantly shoot a MOA at 100 yards.

Interesting facts? The stats from Hodgdon books state that with a 168gr siehpbt the MAX load for varget is 46 grs with a vel of 2731fps. Could they be wrong or someone else? Either way thats what the manufactors states, just passing it along. vangunsmith
